Go look at them

Three businesses, and none of themare a course.

Anybody can put up a website that says they buy businesses. Here are the three I actually run, with addresses, employees, and customers who will talk to you.

The companies

What each one taught me about buying yours.

Quitman, TX · Since 1996

Stitchin' Heaven

A quilt shop that turned into a retreat center, a cottage compound, and about fifteen cruises a year. My mom built it. I took it from around two million to around twelve without changing the name or the people. This is the one that should matter to you.

Tyler, TX · Since 2017

Thunder Laser USA

I bought four laser machines for the quilt business, ended up as the factory's US distributor, and by 2023 we were about forty percent of the US CO2 laser market. Proof I can grow something I did not start.

Tyler, TX · Since 2024

BuildHaus

Factory-direct cabinets, windows, doors, pergolas, and furniture, with a showroom in Tyler. The newest one, and the one where I am still making the mistakes.

The pattern

I have never actually started anything from nothing.

Somebody said that to me on a podcast once and I had to sit with it. He was right. Every one of these was already there and somebody had already proved it worked.

The quilt shop was my mom's. Thunder Laser was a factory with no US presence. Even BuildHaus is a model other people were already running, just narrower.

That is not a weakness in this context. It is the entire job description. Taking something that already works and letting it get to what it should have been is the thing I am actually good at, and it is what I would be doing with yours.
